Codework name bows out
New owner Altimate puts its stamp on Stockport security distributor
The Codework name has been officially consigned to the history books, with the 14-year-old security distributor taking the name of new owner Altimate seven months after its acquisition.
The Stockport-based VAD will henceforth be called Altimate UK. The Altimate Group is a pan-European outfit with turnover of more than £200m. It is owned by Irish giant DCC, which also runs distributors Micro Peripherals and Gem through its Sercom unit.
Altimate paid an undisclosed sum to acquire Codework in September and the sign above the door will now be changed. Divyesh Lakhani, former Codework boss and now managing director of Altimate UK, said the corporate ethos would remain the same.
"Codework built its success through a combination of hard work, an entrepreneurial approach, strong business relationships and a determination to succeed," he said. "It is with a little sadness that we say goodbye to the Codework company name, but we look forward to applying those same principles to Altimate UK Distribution Ltd."
