Rhub to battle Citrix and Cisco in SMB space
EMEA distributor Collaboration Technologies looks to make a splash with webconferencing vendor's gear
Start-up distributor Collaboration Technologies is looking ruffle the feathers of Citrix and Cisco through its exclusive EMEA distribution deal with Rhub Communications.
US-based Rhub's flagship product is the TurboMeeting web conferencing appliance. It also manufactures the TurboSupport remote support appliance. The vendor also recently unveiled the addition of a high-definition, VoIP-enabled softphone to its TurboMeeting portfolio.
Formed last year, North London-based Collaboration Technologies has been appointed as Rhub's exclusive distributor across the EMEA region. The distributor's managing director, Phil Suter, claimed the vendor's technology could provide end users with a return on investment within three to five months.
He added that "the market scope for what we provide is quite enormous", and asserted that Rhub might be a more attractive proposition for SMBs than technologies from some bigger rivals.
"I have nothing against Citrix [GoToMeeting] or [Cisco] WebEx, but you will never own them," explained Suter. When the customer buys this appliance, they buy it and they own it. Rhub can be set up, if you are IT literate, within 10 to 15 minutes and can be branded with your company logo and information."
