New Samsung reseller and retail heads hired
Appointments to Samsung channel roles aim for growth in sales to businesses
Samsung's print division has appointed a new channel chief and a head of retail.
Mark Vatcher will take on the role of head of IT resellers, and Chris Plowright has signed on as head of retail and operations at Samsung UK and Ireland's print division.
Dion Smith, general manager of the print division at Samsung UK, said both have an excellent track record working with key IT reseller and retail accounts.
"We intend to grow both the retail and business channels, and these appointments are squarely aimed at ensuring we have the right team in place to drive that growth," Smith said. "They will be building stronger relationships with our IT and retail channel partners, and ensuring they have a strong platform from which to sell Samsung devices and supplies."
Vatcher was previously at Fujitsu Technology for two years as general manager of the reseller business, and before that spent four years as a channel distribution account director at Fujitsu Siemens. He has also worked for HP and Compaq. He will be driving sales growth in the business market.
Plowright has come from five years in the retail division at HP. Before that, he had five years at HP Australia. He has a background in retail, buying and distribution, and will work to improve Samsung's retail structure and customer service.
Samsung has announced it is targeting 40 per cent growth of sales of its business printers in 2011.
