FaceVsion revs up for SMB drive with VIP signing

Quanta-owned videoconferencing start-up makes good on pledge to widen distribution reach

Videoconferencing start-up FaceVsion has brought VIP Computers into its distribution fold to support its push into the UK SMB channel.

The vendor, which was launched last year, is a subsidiary of Quanta, the world's largest ODM notebook manufacturer. FaceVsion, alongside master UK distributor Imago, initially hit the European space with the TouchCam N1 high-definition (HD) webcam. The device is primarily targeted at the consumer space.

In July 2010, the vendor revealed more SMB-focused wares are in the offing and indicated it intended to sign up a more generalist IT distributor this year. It has now made good on this pledge, with VIP Computers set to take stock of the TouchCam N1.

Howard Lee from FaceVsion said: "In the coming months we are planning on launching a full suite of videoconferencing products across the UK and Europe, and VIP are well positioned to help us reach a wide cross-section of the market with these new products."

Dave Stevinson, sales director at VIP added: "We're really impressed with FaceVsion's products and firmly believe we'll be able to deliver these superior-quality HD communications solutions to a wide audience, ranging from individuals and families to large boardrooms."
