Mimecast shuffles channel management team

Email archiving vendor promotes Nessa Lynchehaun to channel director role

Email archiving vendor Mimecast has promoted former Websense manager Nessa Lynchehaun to the role of UK and Ireland channel director.

The vendor's email management tools allow organisations to extend the capabilities of Microsoft Exchange through the addition of anti-virus, eDiscovery and archiving tools.

Lynchehaun joined Mimecast from Websense three years ago as territory manager, before being handed the role of UK partner boss less than six months later.

She replaces Julian Martin, who has taken on the role of vice president of business development at the firm.

Speaking to ChannelWeb, Lynchehaun said, compared to her previous role at the firm, the channel director post has a greater focus on partner enablement.

Looking ahead, Lynchehaun said the firm's priority is to become even more tightly aligned with Microsoft, and support partners in winning more deals tied up with the software giant's Exchange platform.

"We are doing an awful lot of work with Microsoft at the moment, because we want to become the number-one companion [product] to Exchange," she said.

"Last year, we saw huge numbers of customers looking at Mimecast to fulfil their email continuity needs during the migration to newer versions of Exchange, and with the momentum around the Office 365 launch, it is something we are keen to capitalise on."

Peter Bauer, chief executive of Mimecast, said promoting Lynchehaun had been an easy decision to make.

"Nessa has done great work with our partners in her time at Mimecast," he said. "I am sure that Nessa will help our channel go from strength to strength in the coming months and years."
