Three more Torex directors due in court

Serious Fraud Office reveals names of three men charged in connection with the collapse of the former AIM-listed software company

Three more people have been charged in connection with the collapse of Torex Retail plc.

Robert Loosemore, Mark Woodbridge and Nigel Horn have all been charged with offences of conspiracy to defraud. Loosemore and Woodbridge have also been charged with false accounting offences.

The alleged offences took place between May 2006 and January 2007. At the time, Loosemore was the former chairman of Torex Retail plc, Mark Woodbridge was group financial accountant and Nigel Horn was legal director at the firm, which went into administration in June 2007.

The first court hearing is scheduled for 13 May at Banbury Magistrates court.

Earlier this year two other directors, Edwin Dayan and Christopher Ford, received prison sentences for their part in a £1.65m fraud connected to Torex subsidiary XN Checkout, after being found guilty at Oxford Crown Court in January.

The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has been investigating this matter since January 2007 in conjunction with the City of London Police.

A further announcement on the case is expected on Monday, the SFO revealed.

Torex Retail plc is not related to the ongoing business of Torex Retail Holdings Limited and its subsidiary companies.
