Newborn IT reseller hits the market

HP and Dell partner Vitrix will focus on corporate sector

The man behind O-bit Telecom has lent his backing to a new Buckinghamshire-based IT solutions provider.

Vitrx was launched on Friday by former Lombard Technology Services development director of technology sales Vince O'Hanlon and O-bit founder David Breith.

The Beaconsfield-based reseller aims to provide bespoke solutions to firms with more than 500 seats and is already working towards certified status with HP and Dell.

Breith recently sold O-bit to Daisy Telecom and O'Hanlon said the new firm would draw on the entrepreneur's infrastructure and staff.

O'Hanlon, who was at Lombard for 24 years and worked at Lombard Technology Services after it was set up in 2000, told ChannelWeb: "This is something I have wanted to do for a while – I just had to wait for the right opportunity. David has the infrastructure that allows me to get on with sales and grow the business quickly. On my second day I'm ready to go," he added.

O'Hanlon said Vitrx has already been fast-tracked as an HP Preferred partner and has opened accounts with distributors Computer 2000, Ingram Micro and Westcoast. It also has a datacentre.

"Our focus will be on providing bespoke services to high-end corporate accounts, rather than having a web site that everyone can buy from," he said.
