RM scores top marks from the International Baccalaureate
System builder nets four-year extension to its on-screen marking contract with the education organisation
Education specialist RM Education has secured a four-year extension to its onscreen marking contract with the International Baccalaureate (IB).
Under the terms of the deal, RM Education will add a further £7m of services to the organisation, including further enhancing its scoris online marking platform, which the IB uses to mark exams electronically.
Other functions will include multi-language capability such as French and Spanish; support for a wider range of operating systems and a pilot of a new results portal.
Terry Sweeney, chief executive of RM Education, said: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with the International Baccalaureate which is one of the world's most important providers of qualifications. This partnership, based on our innovative scoris platform, will help provide all those involved in taking or grading exams with the reliable, easy-to-use systems they require.”
Jeffrey Beard, IB director general, said: “With the anticipated strong demand for IB programmes between now and 2020, we require the best possible systems and services to support the way in which we handle marking.
"We have been delighted by the spirit of open partnership with which RM has approached its e-marking service for us to date. We are confident that this agreement will allow us to maintain the quality and reliability of our assessment operations into the future, and at the same time serve many more schools.”
