RM shuffles boardroom pack

Education specialist appoints new chairman and non-executive director

VAR RM has added extra might to its board by appointing Martyn Ratcliffe as chairman and Deena Mattar as non-executive director.

Current chairman John Leighfield is set to retire after 17 years of service. The changes will take place from 1 June.

Ratcliffe has been chairman of Microgen plc since 1998 and took over the chairman’s role at Sagentia Group in April 2010.

Before Microgen he was EMEA senior vice president at Dell. Deena Mattar served as finance director of Kier National from 1998 and was appointed to the board as group finance director in 2001.

She was also appointed a non-executive director of Invensys on 19 May this year.

Terry Sweeney, chief executive of RM, said: “The board joins me in thanking John for his leadership and commitment to RM during his time as chairman. We welcome Martyn and Deena to the board.

“Martyn's successful track record at Microgen and his international experience at Dell will be invaluable to RM as we continue to develop the business, as will Deena's wealth of experience in financial management and corporate governance,” he said.

In separate news, RM announced a technology partnership with software developer panintelligence. Under the deal, RM will integrate the panintelligence dashboard into its educational software products on an OEM basis, and will also resell the software.
