Kaspersky confirms Ingram Micro appointment
Broadliner will join Wick Hill and Exclusive Networks in anti-virus vendor's corporate distributor line-up
Anti-virus vendor Kaspersky has confirmed channel whispers that it has added broadline goliath Ingram Micro to its UK corporate distribution line-up.
The pair already works together on the consumer front but the terms of the new agreement see Ingram gain access to Kaspersky's entire range including Kaspersky Small Office Security and Kaspersky Open Space Security.
It is understood the broadliner will focus on the SMB market, contrasting with incumbent Wick Hill and Exclusive Networks' enterprise bent.
In a statement sent to ChannelWeb, Andrew Lintell, corporate sales director at Kaspersky Lab, said: "This partnership builds on our objective to expand our reseller portfolio in line with our volume business development plans, and will give us the ability to continue to grow within our SMB business."
Cathi Low, director of value business at Ingram Micro, added: "We are delighted to further extend our partnership with Kaspersky Lab and now provide the full range of products, including corporate licensing."
Fast-growing Kaspersky recently set out plans to break into the world's top three security vendors. Its western European revenue rose 16 per cent to $218m (£135m) last year.
Chris Walsh, sales director at Exclusive Networks, said: "As Kaspersky's largest and longest standing value added distributor, Exclusive Networks feels very comfortable with the appointment of Ingram Micro."
