Samsung lays out B2B market ambitions
Vendor appoints new UK and Ireland general manager to drive corporate notebook sales and snatch a top-three spot in the PC market
Samsung is planning to conquer the B2B market and become a top-three notebook vendor by the end of 2012.
Its bold ambitions are to be driven by newly appointed Damian Cusick, who has taken on the role of general manager computing, Samsung UK and Ireland.
His aim is to more than double performance of the vendor’s IT business this year by driving up UK channel sales and appointing new partners. Samsung has already launched a number of notebooks including its Series 9 and Series 5 offerings and more recently unveiled the first Google Chrome OS notebook – the Samsung Series 5.
The vendor is gearing up to launch a new range of notebooks with features designed specifically for business users. Before joining Samsung, Cusick was in charge of retail sales at HP and also worked as an international buying director at Dixons Retail.
Graham Long, vice president of IT at Samsung UK, said: “Damian’s appointment comes at a crucial time for the Samsung IT division. We have set ambitious targets as the company pushes to become one of the top three notebook vendors. Damian’s extensive industry experience in driving business opportunities as well as his established industry relationships will be key to ensuring our targets are met.”
