Vision sets sights on Northamber's Big Blue channel
Software vendor appoints second UK distributor
Software vendor Vision Solutions has enlisted the help of Northamber to drive sales of its Double-Take disaster recovery product line within the IBM channel.
Northamber is the second UK distributor Vision has appointed in recent months to market the range, which it acquired through its buyout of Double-Take last July.
Ian Masters, UK sales director at Vision, said Northamber will be initially tasked with pushing its Double-Take RecoverNow product.
"IBM has not been able to offer a long distance IP-based replication solution for disaster recovery before," he said. "By combining our RecoverNow product with IBM storage and servers, that is now possible."
The products will be made available via the IBM PowerNet Programme, added Masters, which is designed to open up mid-market sales opportunities for Big Blue partners.
"Through the PowerNet programme, we will probably be working with 10 [IBM partners at the very most," he said.
Riki Roe, business development manager at Northamber, said adding Vision to its vendor portfolio should help partners close more deals downstream.
"We will be helping our partners take advantage of these [SMB and mid-market] opportunities through the IBM PowerNet Program, complementing their existing skills around servers, storage and virtualisation, and offering customers real-time protection for their critical data," he added.
