Softcat first out of the blocks on EVA P6000
Reseller draws on Azlan's technical might to land first UK deal involving HP's new storage solution
Reseller Softcat claims it has bagged the first UK order of HP's new P6000 EVA storage solution in conjunction with distributor Azlan.
HP's P6000 EVA storage arrays, launched last week by HP storage senior vice president David Scott, can accommodate up to 480TB of data and are aimed at mid-size customers.
The product was supplied through Azlan and the distributor billed the win as a reflection of its recent investment in HP storage.
John Ward, ESSN business manager for Azlan, said: "We've made considerable investments in building up our HP specialist storage team, and this success is a clear illustration of just how valuable that expertise can be in helping resellers to develop and win new business opportunities. We were able to provide the pre-sales technical assistance that Softcat needed to put forward a solid proposition to the customer and, ultimately, win a valuable piece of business."
Sam Routledge, solutions director at Softcat, said: "We were delighted to get the first order for a P6000 in the UK. We're really excited about the opportunity presented by the recent refresh."
