Civica gets on council's case

VAR wins a hotly contested deal to supply an integrated case management system to Cheshire West and Chester council law departments

VAR Civica has scooped a deal to provide Cheshire West and Chester Council with an integrated case management system across its legal department.

The new system will be based on Civica Legal software, which the VAR claims will give the legal teams web-enabled applications and infrastructure that allows for a single process for case management, court bundling, billling and debt recovery.

It will also help to drive system efficiencies, meet service demands and increase customer-focused service, as well as speed up recovery rates for fines and penalty charge notices.

Bill Loughrey, managing director of local government at Civica, said: "Councils’ legal departments are facing significant pressures to cut costs while maintaining high levels of service and finding practical ways to boost recovery rates.
