LG signs Midwich to drive videoconferencing sales
Deal to focus on new portable HD hardware
Distributor Midwich has been signed up by LG to push its videoconferencing hardware through the reseller channel.
According to Midwich, the deal is exclusive.
Lee Baker, business manager at Midwich, said LG's RVF1000 portable in-room videoconferencing kit had shown itself to be attractive, accessible and cost-effective. Midwich believes it will suit schools and the like.
"This LG videoconferencing solution will also further complement our market-leading range of LG displays, TVs and monitors," Baker said.
It has 720p HD video, a 30fps HD camera, content sharing with single streaming, and dynamic bandwidth allocation in a compact package, he said.
Warren Lewis, commercial director of IT solutions at LG, said Midwich was a "natural fit" for the vendor.
"Its sales and marketing expertise, as well as its specialist knowledge of the videoconferencing marketplace, will prove invaluable," he added.
