Sysec plucks ex-McAfee man to drive professional services
Security integrator claims appointment of John Maden is integral to expansion plans
Security integrator Sysec claims to have kicked off the next phase of its growth after appointing former McAfee director John Maden to the role of professional services director.
Sysec recently realigned its business to acquire or become part of a larger group, warning that sub-£10m-turnover security VARs have a bleak future. It could hit the acquisition trail as soon as September.
Maden has been brought on board to help build out Sysec's professional services capabilities in areas such as end-point protection and identity and access management.
Maden worked as McAfee's northern EMEA service director from 2004 to 2007. More recently, he has held technical posts at software giants BMC and CA.
Cris Pikes, chief executive of Sysec, said: “The appointment of John to the role of professional services director marks the start of the next phase in Sysec’s growth.
"John will lead Sysec’s development of our professional service capabilities to provide our customers with the ability to apply technology to their need for enhanced identity management and data protection as they move towards greater reliance on cloud computing.”
