WAN optimisation player piggybacks on EqualLogic channel
NetEx puts call out to EqualLogic partners after launching free end-user software promotion
WAN optimisation software vendor NetEx is targeting the Dell EqualLogic channel after launching a free software offer to EqualLogic end users.
Under a global promotion that runs until July 2012, NetEx is offering free WAN optimisation software to Dell EqualLogic PS Series iSCSI SAN storage users who are replicating data over WANs.
Robert MacIntyre, vice president of business development at NetEx – which was formed in 1999 as a spin-off of StorageTek – said: "Time and time again, we have proven how HyperIP WAN optimisation virtual appliances speed back-up and replication applications, and Dell’s EqualLogic PS Series is an ideal platform for demonstrating this to a new class of customers."
NetEx cited third-party research that found that HyperIP reduced a Dell EqualLogic customer's replication, back-up and migration times by 60 to 90 per cent.
The offer entitles end users to two free one-year subscriptions of NetEx's 2MB/s HyperIP WAN optimisation virtual appliance, which is designed to improve the performance of replication across a WAN.
NetEx invited Dell's partners to get involved by signing up as a NetEx HyperChannel partner.
