IBM fends off rebate claims

Big Blue says in a statement that there have been "no changes" to SVI

IBM has hit back at criticism over its Software Value Incentive (SVI) programme, claiming nothing has changed.

Last week several partners contacted CRN after they discovered pre-agreed rebates under SVI were not going to be paid if the customer had a government stakeholder – such as financial organisations and banks that received bailout money during the economic crisis.

In a statement sent to CRN, an IBM representative said: “There have been no changes to the IBM Software Value Incentive programme.

“The programme's criteria is set at a global level and has not changed. Claims are and continue to be approved and denied on a daily basis by the in-country teams responsible for administering the programme.

“There are several reasons a claim could be denied within the published terms of the programme."
