Stone SaaS deal saves schools cash
System builder inks partnership with specialist curriculum software provider Stream2School to stretch school budgets
System builder Stone has signed an OEM agreement with specialist software provider Stream2School to help struggling schools keep a grip on their budgets.
The deal will cover all PC systems, whether Stone’s own label, Lenovo, Samsung or Toshiba.
Over the next three months, the partnership – which allows schools to rent on a term-by-term basis rather than buy their curriculum software – will cover 55,000 systems shipped by Stone to more than 3,000 schools in the UK.
The firms claim the agreement will give a school with a £500 software budget access to £5,000 worth of software annually.
James Bird, chief executive of Stone, said: “We are determined to provide the best value for schools and colleges through technology innovation. Stream2School has a unique approach to software delivery which will undoubtedly be of significant value to our schools customers in maximising their available budgets.
“We think this is a superb solution that we would like to share with our customers by giving them direct access to Stream2School from all our computers – whatever the brand. This is another way that we are helping our customers by bringing them access to great technology solutions and helping to get the best value out of their available budgets.”
Ian Skeels, managing director of Stream2School, said: “We have chosen an exclusive partnership with Stone based on its reputation for customer service and the added value that it brings to any school or college through its exemplary levels of service.”
