Swap at the top for Phoenix
Former Fujitsu Services and EDS UK CEO David Courtley replaces retiring Nick Robinson
Phoenix IT Group has recruited former Fujitsu Services chief executive David Courtley as its new leader.
Courtley replaces Nick Robinson, who is retiring on 28 July after 18 years at the helm of the Northampton-based IT services player. Robinson has led Phoenix since buying into the business in 1993, and was the driving force behind the company's flotation in 2004. He will remain a shareholder in the business.
His replacement arrives with 30 years of IT services experience, including an eight-year stint in charge of Fujitsu Services, which ended in 2008. He also served as chief executive of EDS UK, during a decade-long spell at the firm.
Phoenix chairman Peter Bertram said: "David's experience of large-scale and complex environments means he is ideally qualified to lead the business through its next phase of development and growth. I am delighted to welcome David to Phoenix and the board looks forward to working with him to address the considerable market opportunity available to the group."
