Liverpool video platform goes global
Asian deal takes British technology to online sports fans in 28 countries
Liverpool based Edit.TV has signed a deal to deploy its homegrown media platform for Asian internet TV provider Allied Pacific Sports Network (ASPN).
Matt O'Connor, a director at Edit.TV, said the deal may herald further opportunities.
"[ASPN] plans to launch a subscription-based internet television service across the entire Asian region showing exclusive football content from some of the most famous leagues in the world and delivering content to fans on multiple devices," O'Connor said.
Peter Schloss, chief executive at APSN, said the network was always looking for new and innovative ways to boost its content provision.
"We will be working closely with Edit.TV across live, on-demand and archived content. Edit.TV's dynamic solutions will provide our customers with a powerful, intuitive and engaging video service," Schloss said.
Edit.TV specialises in end-to-end video offerings for market sectors including business, news and entertainment. Partners include Motorola, Adobe and Press Association Sport.
APSN pushes live and on-demand sports over the internet to 28 Asian countries. It claims to have delivered more than 2,500 live sporting events to Asia based viewers in 2010 and intends to broadcast over 10,000 events during 2011.
