Unnamed VAR grabs ex-Mitel man to create identity

Ex SpiriTel boss enlists sales and marketing director to create a brand identity for his new VAR

A new, as-yet-unnamed VAR, led by former SpiriTel boss Alastair Mills, has enlisted a sales and marketing director to create a brand identity.

The 60-strong firm, which will focus on the managed data services space, was unveiled last week off the back of the merger of three converged services providers: UKSolutions, NetworkFlow and Protel.

As well as being run largely by ex-SpiriTel executives, it is funded by former SpiriTel backer Penta Capital.

However, it does not yet have a name.

Enter former Mitel, ATC and Charterhouse Voice & Data man Campbell Williams (pictured with Mills), whom Mills has enlisted to create a brand identity.

Mills said: "We are building a new company with a clean-sheet-of-paper approach, so we felt it was essential to strengthen the senior management team with somebody to lead our sales and marketing initiatives. I could think of no better person in the industry than Campbell, so I am excited that he is on board."

Williams added: "It did not take me long to decide to jump on board once Alastair told me that the new Group was acquiring a datacentre, next-generation network and an IP voice services business.

"I believe it is exactly the right approach and that we have an end-to-end, core-to-edge capability that few can rival, which makes my job of crafting our message and selling it to customers so much easier."
