Updated: Bharat heads for Avnet exit
Director in charge of Avnet's Oracle business is leaving for pastures new, distributor confirms
The man in charge of Avnet Technology Solutions' EMEA relationship with Oracle is parting company with the distributor.
Mickey Bharat, who held the title of irector EMEA PBG Oracle hardware and software, reported into Gary Coburn, Avnet's recently departed senior vice president of Product Business Group (PBG) EMEA.
Bharat joined Avnet alongside Coburn through its 2008 acquisition of Horizon.
His role will now be filled by Ciaran Doherty, who currently heads up Avnet Technology Solutions' Irish business.
Bharat is now the third high-level manager to head for Avnet's exit doors in the past few weeks, with finance director Nick Lee also recently leaving to join rival distributor Northamber.
Graeme Watt, president of Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA, confirmed: "Mickey has left and we have thanked him for his leadership of our Oracle EMEA business. We have decided to change the running and responsibility but we don't make changes like this unless we have discussed it with the vendors beforehand."
