UPDATED: Kcom bags Elizabeth Bramwell as sales director
Long-standing C&W exec joins integrator as sales chief, ChannelWeb learns
IT and comms integrator Kcom has bagged former Cable & Wireless (C&W) and Energis exec Elizabeth Bramwell as its new sales director, ChannelWeb has learned.
Bramwell arrives at the Hull-based firm from C&W, who declined to comment on her departure. She spent more than 11 years with the carrier, where she led the firm's UK enterprise strategic and corporate accounts sales operations.
In a statement issued to ChannelWeb, Kcom confirmed Bramwell's appointment. The statement explained that the new sales boss has been tasked with winning new custom in key target markets. She is also expected to deepen ties with top blue-ribbon customers including British Airways, Domino's, Staffordshire County Council and Diva Telecoms.
Bramwell said: "I believe that Kcom has the people, the solutions and the right approach to go out and really make its mark in the managed communication services space. I'm looking forward to driving our success and helping deliver a world-class customer experience to our customers."
Kcom, in its present guise, was formed in late 2009, when the national operations of carrier Kingston Communications were merged with integrator, and fellow KCOM Group company, Affiniti. The Kingston brand lives on in KCOM's home turf of Hull and East Yorkshire.
Since then Kcom has focused on higher-margin services business, reducing its product resale revenues and hiving off a chunk of its maintenance business to Phoenix IT Services. This refocusing led to operating margins jumping from 8.9 to 12.3 per cent during the firm's 2011 fiscal year.
Last year was also an eventful one in the boardroom, with managing director Paul Renucci resigning just before Christmas. Renucci had previously served as managing director of Affiniti and his duties were taken on by KCOM Group chief financial officer Paul Simpson.
