Hartley beds in to role as HP Networking channel boss
Vendor confirms long wait for Helen Speak's replacement ended recently
Former EMC and PlateSpin exec Adam Hartley is settling into his new role as HP Networking UK and Ireland channel manager, HP has confirmed.
The vendor's networking arm spent much of the first half of the year without a channel boss in place, after Helen Speak moved on to a role in another HP division in December. HP confirmed that Hartley took on the job a couple of months ago but declined to comment further.
According to his LinkedIn profile, before taking on his latest role, Hartley spent a year as HP's UK and Ireland channel manager for business-critical servers.
Prior to that, he spent five years largely in the employ of EMC, managing various vendor alliances. He spent a year away from the storage giant between 2006 and 2007, serving as UK channel director at virtualisation vendor PlateSpin.
HP Networking has undergone a maelstrom of change to its UK management line-up in the past nine months, beginning with the departure of UK and Ireland head honcho Darryl Brick in October. He was replaced by former Nortel exec Barry Bonnett.
Two months later, ChannelWeb revealed that channel manager Speak was also moving on to a new post, as was solutions sales chief Richard Logan. Two months ago, long-standing Cicso exec Nick Watson moved into a job as HP Networking's EMEA boss, replacing Carlos Sartorius, who took on a global role.
