Datel prescribes Sage ERP X3 to online chemist
Sage partner clinches deployment contract with mail order firm Pharmacy2U
Warrington-based Sage partner Datel has been commissioned to deploy a new ERP package for online chemist Pharmacy2U.
The project will involve Datel migrating Pharmacy2U off Sage 200 and onto the accountancy software vendor's ERP X3 platform, a process it expects to complete by early 2012.
The firm is also running workshops to help the pharmacy's IT staff integrate the new system with its other business applications.
Andrew Pritchard, account development director at Datel, said: "We were able to gain a clear understanding of the business requirements and helped to identify Sage ERP X3 as the right solution to support Pharmacy2U's significant growth plans."
Pharmacy2U, which claims to be the country's first online and mail order chemist, said it had decided to upgrade to Sage ERP X3 for scalability reasons.
Shaun Joyce, head of finance at Pharmacy2U, added: "While we could have adapted Sage 200, Sage ERP X3 has the scalability, flexibility and integration to support us well into the future."
