Zyxel plies firms with free licences
Short-term offer designed to help businesses fend off network and malware attacks
Networking vendor Zyxel is aiming to lure in business customers by plying them with free licences allowing them to monitor use of social network sites.
Until 31 August, firms that buy a Zyxel Content Filter licence for a Unified Security Gateway 50, 100, 200, 300, 1000 or 2000 will bag a free IDP licence.
The IDP service will give them deep packet inspection and granular control of their network security, allowing them to take control of the web site usage of their employees, said Zyxel.
The vendor added that the offer was aimed at helping businesses fend off the growing threat of network and malware attacks.
"Employees are still uneducated about how their online behaviour can have a detrimental effect on the business network," it said.
"Malicious software such as Trojan horses, spyware or worms, coupled with the multitude of connected devices that employees are now using, means that more pressure is being placed upon businesses to stop internal users surfing potentially dangerous sites, decrease downtime within the business and prevent loss of revenue."
