Amillan and Networks First make good Sparring partners
Channel duo teams up to deploy new IT infrastructure for supermarket distributor James Hall Distribution Centre
Comms integrator Amillan and third-party services player Networks First have completed the £100,000 rollout of a new ICT infrastructure for grocery distribution heavyweight James Hall Distribution Centre.
James Hall, which is based in Preston, works with more than 450 Spar stores across the north of England. It moved to new premises in its Lancashire hometown this year, with its former site several miles away being destroyed.
Amillan and Networks First installed two datacentres and laid more than 6km of fibre-optic cable across the 35,000sq metre site. James Hall has been in business for almost 150 years and current IT director Dominic Hall is a direct descendant of the company's founders.
"Amillan worked closely with us from the planning stages, right through to the completion of the new build project," he said. "The technology installed means that we have the assurance of a reliable and well-maintained network and a backup datacentre to ensure that our customers are taken care of at all times."
Richard Reid, strategic development director at Amillan, added: "The project at James Hall Distribution Centre demonstrates the capability of Amillan in terms of design, project management and execution."
