StreamUK Kops Liverpool FC video contract
Webcasting player nabs deal with Premier League football club
Webcasting firm StreamUK has tied up a deal with Liverpool Football Club (LFC) to overhaul its delivery of video content.
Liverpool, which began the Premier League season last weekend with a 1-1 draw at home to Sunderland, generates more than 110 million page impressions per month on its web site. North London-based StreamUK will provide the club with its Stream Media Platform technology.
The webcaster claims its offering will give LFC the benefits of multi-platform capability, asset management and full control of its video syndication. StreamUK was chosen after Liverpool's testers trialled it in a two-week blind test.
Michael Crowder, systems and development manager at LFC, said: "We are committed to delivering the very best in functionality and quality to our fans. StreamUK shares these aims and has the know-how to realise them."
