Medium UK takes on LG commercial TVs

Expansion of vendor relationship to target leisure and retail

Audiovisual distributor Medium UK has announced it will distribute the new LG Commercial Pro range of televisions.

Mike Clayton, FPD product range manager at Medium, said the new addition is simply about broadening its LG relationship.

“The addition of the Commercial Pro range to our existing LG portfolio of TV, 3D projection and M Series large-format commercial displays enables us to offer our partners the widest possible choice of LG AV products,” he said in a statement.

Clayton insisted the distributor has already been getting “fantastic traction” in the leisure and retail verticals. “This range can help us further penetrate these markets,” he said.

Clayton said the Commercial Pro range of LCD televisions includes hybrid HD products that sport a welcome screen and the opportunity to upload a company logo for end users in verticals such as hospitality, and offers the possibility to extend the hours of use as required.

Screen sizes range from 22in to 46in. HD-Ready and Full HD models are available. Korea-based LG is also promising a two-year warranty with 72-hour swap-outs for faulty hardware.

Medium plans to offer the range to customers serving hotels, GPs, public bars, or any location where television is used for long periods.

The distributor announced a deal to launch LG’s SuperSign digital signage software for SMBs through UK distribution a year ago.

LG Electronics at InfoComm 2011 stated it is targeting various digital out-of-home markets aggressively with its digital displays and signage.

The deal follows new signings for the distributor with Peerless-AV and Datapath.
