Redstone first UK VAR to bag vCloud services badge

Integrator becomes one of 30 VMware partners worldwide authorised to offer public cloud technology services

Redstone has become VMware's first UK partner to gain certification as a provider of vCloud Powered services.

The City of London-based VAR is now authorised by the virtualisation giant to offer services based around its vSphere and vCloud Director technology. It has become one of just 30 partners worldwide to gain the accreditation, and one of only seven in Europe.

VCloud Powered services are designed to offer end users access to virtual infrastructures from a public cloud. The Powered programme was launched to existing members of the VMware Service Provider Programme in February.

Dan Chu, vice president of cloud infrastructure and services at the virtualisation giant, said: "We are delighted to see such enthusiasm within our service provider ecosystem to offer VMware vCloud Powered services.

"Built on the foundation of VMware's leading virtualisation and cloud infrastructure technologies, VMware vCloud Powered services help assure customers that their workloads are secure and easily moved across their hybrid cloud environments – enabling customers to be more efficient and respond better to business demands on IT resources."
