NextiraOne gives Poundland a Cisco makeover
Integrator's contract with discount retailer gets renewed
Integrator NextiraOne has signed a new contract with Poundland to upgrade the high street retailer's LAN infrastructure.
The deal will see NextiraOne design, supply and maintain the networks used by Poundland's head office in the West Midlands and distribution sites in the UK, which are used to run its stock control and staff management systems.
The integrator has revealed that Poundland's new LAN network will be built using Cisco switches, allowing the firm to make use of IP telephony and video calls.
NextiraOne has been working with Poundland, which has 345 UK stores, since 2004 when it was commissioned by the retailer to upgrade its LAN and voice networks.
Steven Skakel, managing director for the UK & Ireland at NextiraOne, said: "Poundland has always used technology to ensure the efficiency of its operations and achieve its business goals.
"In a fast-moving consumer goods environment, this has paid off in allowing the company to grow rapidly to its current success," he added.
Mike Gray, director of IT at Poundland, added: "NextiraOne has delivered the infrastructure and managed the network for us for many years and we are very happy with the service it has provided."
