Websense widens remit of UK pair

Andy Philpott and Ross Baker handed Nordic and Baltic reins

Websense UK duo Andy Philpott and Ross Baker have seen their roles extended as part of an EMEA reporting line rejig.

Vice president Philpott (pictured) and channel sales director Baker's positions previously covered the UK, Ireland and Africa, but the pair's remit has been widened to include the Nordics and Baltics.

Baker said the change would give the web-filtering vendor's Nordic and Baltic operations a stronger channel bent.

"We are going to grow the Nordic business by further embracing the channel, and my goal is to bring on a Platinum partner in Sweden this year," said Baker.

Websense's EMEA channel was previously run by Ariel Dan, who left earlier this year to start his own firm. Channel managers in the Nordics and Baltics will now report to Baker, and those in the rest of continental Europe will report to their territory managers.

Philpott's role has been widened to "even out" the EMEA territories covered by him and fellow vice president Mauricio Garavello, said Baker.
