Imago Group expands revenues 34 per cent

Turnover boosted for 2011 by sales abroad

Video communications distributor Imago Group has reported revenue growth of 34 per cent to £52m in the 2011 financial year, compared with 2010.

Ian Vickerage, managing director of Imago (pictured, above), said the firm has continued to perform well in its international operations due to demand for video conferencing products.

"Video conferencing sales are good across all the regions in which we operate," he said. "Because of the recession, customers are working with smaller budgets, but many see both the short- and long-term benefits of investing in video conferencing."

UK-based Imago has subsidiaries in France, Spain, Belgium, Holland, South Africa and China. France and Spain performed the strongest in 2011.

"When we announced our financial results at the beginning of the year, I anticipated that the gap between our overseas and UK sales would grow and the latest figures bear this out," said Vickerage.

Sales and profits in the UK grew but were overshadowed by the performance abroad, he maintained.

"We will continue to focus on expanding internationally in the year ahead," added Vickerage.

According to figures from ABI Research, the unified communications (UC) market, which includes video conferencing and communications capabilities, is predicted to grow to $2bn (£1.3bn) globally by 2016.
