Comstor and Emulex pair up
Distribution deal targets VARs working in the Cisco UCS datacentre space
Comstor has inked a distribution deal with Emulex to target resellers working in the growing Cisco UCS datacentre space.
The agreement coincides with a channel promotion – the Emulex Nexus Attach programme – which claims to offer partners additional margin opportunities on combined OneConnect and Nexus deals when registered via Comstor.
Russell Blackburn, business development manager for Comstor’s datacentre business unit, said: “We were quick to identify Emulex as the market leader for 10Gb Ethernet connectivity in the datacentre. We can now support a wide range of Cisco UCS solutions, including the Nexus and MDS switch families, making Emulex the connectivity solution of choice for Cisco partners.”
The Emulex agreement complements Comstor’s LEAP program supporting Cisco’s channel initiatives on its Unified Computing Technology (UCT) and Unified Fabric Technology (UFT), which it claims is designed to deliver greater incentives for partners to adopt and sell Cisco’s datacenter architecture.
Craig Skelton, channel sales director at Emulex, said: “When we looked at the Cisco distribution market it was obvious that we would need a go-to-market partner with the creativity, relationships, initiative and momentum to quickly break us out into relevant and motivated Cisco datacenter partners. We believe Comstor is the right distributor to do this and its track record speaks for itself.”
