Softcat gets claws into graduate recruitment
VAR welcomes 40 new recruits to its account management and customer service teams
VAR Softcat has welcomed 40 new recruits to its burgeoning account management and customer service teams, taking the company headcount to 375.
The majority of the new starters have joined the firm through the Softcat Graduate Recruitment Programme.
Of the 40 new recruits, 14 will be based at Softcat's HQ in Marlow, 10 will work out of its London office and five will join its commercial team in Manchester. A further seven have been welcomed onto its public sector team.
The company has launched another recruitment programme called Geek Track, which is aimed at boosting the number of graduate-level engineers and technology consultants working at Softcat. So far, four people have signed up.
The firm, whose new financial year starts today, said it plans to recruit 160 new staff over the next 12 months.
Martin Hellawell, managing director of Softcat (pictured), said: "The recruitment market is probable slightly in our favour right now, and it is wonderful to see so much excellent talent joining the company.
"But our feet remain firmly on the ground [and] we are a long way from achieving our ambitions for the company, and have so much more to do in every area of the business," he added.
