Citrix poaches HP Networking boss

Virtualisation giant crowns Carlos Sartorius as EMEA vice president and general manager

Virtualisation giant Citrix has nabbed former HP Networking boss Carlos Sartorius to head up its EMEA-wide operations.

Sartorius has taken over the role of EMEA vice president and general manager at Citrix from Scott Herren, who will stay on at the firm in an unspecified position.

In his new role, Sartorius will be responsible for overseeing the vendor's go-to-market and growth activities across the region.

Before joining Citrix, he held the position of EMEA vice president and general manager at HP Networking, and has also worked at Orange Business Services (OBS) and Avaya.

Al Monserrat, senior vice president of sales and services for Citrix, said Sartorius' experiences at HP, Avaya and OBS will stand him in good stead at the firm.

"He has experience with channel, OEM, service provider and enterprise sales models," explained Monserrat. "And he has consistently demonstrated he knows how to grow and manage dynamic and large technology businesses in multilingual and multicultural environments."

Sartorius added: "I look forward to working with Citrix to build upon their market leadership position and drive further success."
