Interoute acquires Oracle house Quantix

Firms aim for cloud success with everything-as-a-service strategy

Interoute Communications has moved to expand its cloud services offerings by snapping up Oracle partner Quantix.

The acquisition, agreed for an undisclosed sum, will see Docklands-based Interoute utilising Quantix's OraCloud platform and adding managed application services to its unified ICT and managed hosting portfolio.

The newly expanded firm also aim to manage international customers' database applications while implementing Oracle and SQL as a cloud-based service.

Interoute chief executive Gareth Williams said: "Our strategy is based around providing customers with a comprehensive portfolio of solutions and services from the ground to the cloud. Unified ICT is an approach to creating and managing all enterprise ICT infrastructures as a service, delivered from a secure networking platform."

Interoute plans to develop the idea at Quantix's headquarters in Nottingham, which will be the main centre for application management and cloud services deployment.

Simon Goodenough, managing director of Quantix, added: "By joining forces with Interoute, we are now able to take our services across Europe."
