EET gets nod from Sony
Sony appoints EET as a European distributor of its surveillance equipment
Distributor EET Group has continued its push into the surveillance market after inking a European distribution contract with Sony.
The Denmark-based peripherals and spare parts distributor bolstered its physical security offering earlier this year with the purchase of Erintec, which had a small UK arm.
UK managing director Simon Smith said Sony was an important vendor signing for the group, given its reputation in the analogue and IP-based surveillance space.
"We have been working hard to create the necessary foundation to achieve our goal of being a leading distributor of surveillance equipment," he said.
"We have during the past 12 months acquired Ernitec, enlarged our product portfolio and increased our sales team. We are very proud that Sony has acknowledged our efforts and decided to be part of our development plans."
Sony's Nordic sales manager, Bjørn Admeus, added: "We see big potential in the EET Group as they have the financial power to crystallise their ambitious strategy plan – so signing up with the EET Group fits very well into Sony's ambition to grow in the IP market."
