Azlan parts ways with Avaya in UK
But parent group Computer 2000 will continue to work with the networking vendor in other EMEA territories
Azlan has confirmed it has parted company with Avaya in the UK, but will continue to work with the vendor in other territories.
CRN revealed last week that the two firms had decided to scale back their relationship as speculation mounted that the comms vendor would cut its distributors in the UK from four to three.
In a statement, Andy Dow, (pictured) commercial director at Azlan UK parent Computer 2000, said: “Avaya UK and Azlan have agreed to separate their partnership in the UK market. But we will continue to work together across other EMEA markets.”
Back in May, then managing director Lee Shorten hinted that the existing line-up of Westcon, ScanSource Communications, Avnet and Azlan could be pared down.
Azlan was only given access to Avaya's full portfolio last summer. It was previously a Nortel distributor.
An Avaya representative confirmed the parting of ways.
"This is the case in the UK, but we are planning to continue to work with them in EMEA," she said.
