Forsyth saga continues at Brother

HP printing veteran takes on newly created channel development post at rival vendor

Brother UK has hired Andy Forsyth in a bid to expand printer sales to medium-sized and large businesses.

The appointment comes after the company saw a 4.7 per cent annual increase in total printer sales to £103.7m in FY11, defying what it claims was a slump in sales across the printer industry following the recession.

Forsyth has joined Brother in a newly created role focused on developing and supporting the company's network of indirect channels for its existing product portfolio.

He arrives with two decades of printing experience, having most recently served as sales and marketing director for HP's UK and Ireland laser printing business.

The company also plans to deepen its reach into the VAR market through new products and services and this charge will be led by Brother's general manager
Terry Caulfield.

Forsyth said: "In my new role, I will help to further develop the company's partnership with the channel to identify gaps in the market for products and services."

He added that it would not only solve problems faced by end users, but also help resellers establish trust with their customers.

"Phil Jones, sales and marketing director at Brother UK, said: "Andy will be a great asset to the Brother UK senior management team. His appointment is an indication of our ambition to continue the growth for our UK business."
