RES picks up new staff and partners
Workspace management vendor unveils recent hires and new partners
Workspace management vendor RES Software has reinforced its commitment to the channel by announcing two new hires and some new VAR signings.
The vendor specialises in products that allow organisations to centrally manage their physical and virtual desktop environments, and let users have the same personal desktop settings wherever they log in.
The firm has handed former Websense manager Sarah Goodchild the role of channel programmes director and poached Naomi Newport from Adobe to lead the vendor's channel marketing activities across EMEA.
The pair will be responsible for developing the company's channel programme, and building awareness of the RES brand across EMEA.
Speaking to ChannelWeb, Newport said her aim was to introduce activities that would make it easier for RES partners to close deals and get promoted to the higher tiers of the vendor's channel programme.
"We have growth plans that will require our partners to be more actively engaged with us and we want to see the size of their deals grow," said Newport. "[To achieve that] the plan is to make RES a more visible presence in the market by building our online presence and attending more events."
On top of this, RES has also recently signed up VARs Softcat and Point To Point, bringing its UK partner tally to 26.
Chris Hammans, regional director of RES Software, said: "Both Point to Point and Softcat bring together a mix of high technical expertise and strong customer service focus, and their skills will support our expansion within the UK."
Mike Mitcham, strategic alliances director at Point To Point, said RES' products would be a welcome addition to his firm's virtualisation-focused portfolio.
"We already partner with AppSense on the user virtualisation side, but it is the service orchestration and workspace automation piece that made us decide to partner with RES as well," he added.
