Smart Technologies launches VAR accreditation

Programme rolled out to benefit buyers of interactive whiteboards (IWBs)

US education hardware maker Smart Technologies has taken the wraps off a global accreditation programme aimed at improving the skills of VARs.

Patrick Lelorieux, vice president and general manager of EMEA at Smart, said the programme is meant to "enhance" the sales and technical competencies of its business-focused resellers so end customers will have a better experience.

"The programme ensures that customers receive specialised support from accredited resellers with an in-depth understanding of our business solutions," said Lelorieux.

Resellers can earn Gold or Silver badges, associated with different levels of support and choices of product. For example, only Gold partners may sell Smart's Bridgit data conferencing software.

Martine Dodwell-Bennett, group sales and marketing director at Smart distributor Steljes, said: "The benefits that Gold accredited resellers receive will help them target more global opportunities, while Silver accreditation allows resellers to become more competitive in the SMB market."
