Redstone in box-seat for £10.2m WAN deal

Networking VAR on a roll as unnamed customer picks it as preferred bidder for five-year project

Networking VAR Redstone has landed preferred-bidder status on a £10.2m managed wide area network (WAN) deal.

Redstone's pallid share price has improved this year, packing on about a third since it announced it had won a bumper £22m banking deal in late September.

The latest contract, with an unnamed new customer, will involve 1,900 sites across the UK and Ireland and will be delivered over a period of up to five years. Full roll-out is set to commence in early 2012 upon completion of a pilot programme.

Redstone chief executive Tony Weaver said: "Being selected as this organisation's preferred bidder further proves our ability to deliver mission-critical connectivity to high-level organisations across the UK.

"This will form another long-term contract providing annuity revenue and the potential to offer other services from the Redstone portfolio to this new customer in the future."
