Change at the top for Salford Software

Paul Beaumont joins as chief executive with long-serving leader James Doggart set to bid adieu, ChannelWeb learns

VAR Salford Software has a new man at the top, with long-time boss James Doggart leaving to be replaced by Paul Beaumont.

Doggart has led the Novell Platinum partner, which is wholly owned by the University of Salford, since 2004. It is understood he will depart to join a start-up firm later this year. Stepping into the hotseat is new chief executive Paul Beaumont, who joined last week and confirmed his appointment to ChannelWeb.

During its 2010 fiscal year, which closed on 31 March last year, Salford Software grew its turnover 28.2 per cent year on year to £8.4m. However, operating losses stood at £32,000, down from an operating profit of more than £500,000 in FY09.

Doggart is the second directorial change inside two months, with sales chief Steve Dobson leaving Salford Software in August to join Google Apps reseller Cloud Technology Solutions.
