European Electronique to build Scale in education sector

VAR tasked with building scale-out storage vendor's presence among schools and academies

Storage vendor Scale Computing has signed up VAR European Electronique to help it penetrate the education vertical.

Scale, which specialises in unified, scale-out storage for SMBs, claimed that many UK schools are implementing server and desktop virtualisation to help them deliver efficiency savings.

It said that European Electronique would help it reach schools, academies and further education colleges throughout the UK.

Simon Marrion, EMEA channel development director at Scale Computing, said: "Our portfolio provides the much needed flexibility, greater ease of manageability and the capacity and performance needed to further support the education sector in driving down costs."

David Turton, enterprise solutions specialist at European Electronique, argued that Scale offers flexible, "honest" storage.

"The Scale Computing team has been behind us every step of the way from demonstrations, implementation and targeted information for educational and specialist IT personnel alike," he said. "From speaking to our customers, we have found that Scale's solution is easy to manage, cost efficient and enables the ICT staff to focus on their core responsibilities and projects that help the installation rather than losing valuable time to system troubleshooting."
