New virtualisation player storms into UK market
NextIO appoints EMEA boss and links arms with Zycko for channel push
Texan virtualisation specialist NextIO has smashed into the UK market after appointing a new EMEA boss and distribution partner, and signing up eight resellers.
Earlier this year the Austin-based vendor appointed former Zycko exec Michael Logan as EMEA sales director. And it is his former employer that has been appointed as NextIO's lead-off distributor for the UK market.
The vendor has also added eight UK resellers, including NexStor, Layer 47, S3 SDVV and SICL. Working alongside Zycko, the vendor plans to ramp up its presence across EMEA next year.
David Galton-Fenzi, sales and marketing director at Zycko, said: "We recognise I/O virtualisation as a truly disruptive technology allowing for greater flexibility and more efficiency in the server environment. NextIO complements our existing offering in this space."
NextIO's product suite includes the recently launched rack-level appliance vNet I/O Maestro. The vendor claims the technology allows a single I/O device to appear as multiple virtual adapters.
We are finding that a number of organisations do not have the bandwidth to support an increase in the number of VMs as they aim to consolidate," said Logan. "VNET I/O Maestro offers the ability to expand without adding boxes and cables by creating shared pools of I/O resources, which results in major cost savings."
