Softcat gears up to move house

Two years of growth prompt move to a swanky new office, twice the size of its previous HQ

Fast-growing VAR Softcat has signed on the dotted line for its new HQ, after getting too big for its last home.

Over the past two years the firm has doubled both turnover and headcount, and is moving to a new 27,000sq ft office, next door to its current headquarters in Marlow.

The firm intends to recruit a further 160 employees during its financial year, and is seeing growth at its London and Manchester offices as well this year, employing a total of 400 staff in the UK.

Martin Hellawell, managing director of Softcat, said: “We are rapidly running out of desk space in our current building – it is just not big enough to support our future growth. While I wouldn’t say it is at all easy at the moment, business remains very strong and we intend to keep growing and keep on recruiting. It is exciting to have a new home to move into and we are looking forward to kicking off the next phase of the Softcat journey from there.”

“When it comes to a working environment, people are far more important than buildings, but I hope we can use our new home to continually improve Softcat as a workplace for our employees," he added.

The firm expects to have fully moved in by the end of next year.
