Widget unveils new managing director
Widget co-founder David Elder returns from three-year exile as Jo-Anne Foreman heads to C2000
Widget co-founder David Elder has rejoined the distributor after a three-year hiatus to fill the shoes of departing managing director Jo-Anne Foreman.
Foreman is leaving the consumer electronic specialist to join Computer 2000, where she will head up the distributor's TDConsumer Electronics division.
Elder (pictured) was Widget's commercial director for five years until he left in 2008, after which he retained a non-executive role. He also helped found the TomTom and Cisco distributor.
Widget UK chairman Mark Needham told ChannelWeb: "David is very well placed indeed to come back in and take up where Jo-Anne left off."
At the same time, Widget has promoted Grant Davidson, who was formerly general manager of operations, to operations director.
Foreman will begin her new role at C2000 in December. She will report to C2000 commercial director Dave Watts.
C2000 marketing director Andy Dow told ChannelWeb: "This is an additional hire as our consumer business is expanding."
Foreman joined Widget in 2008 from TomTom and had been managing director for more than three years.
In a statement, Foreman said: "Leading such a successful team at Widget UK during a period where we achieved so much has been hugely enjoyable. I have learned a great deal during my time with Widget and wish everyone there continued success moving forward."
