Advanced Computer Software nets largest-ever deal

Healthcare specialist lands £17m deal to supply Northern Irish department with finance, procurement and logistics software

Advanced Computer Software has bagged the biggest contract in its history, a £17m deal with a Northern Ireland government department.

The 10-year deal will see the healthcare IT specialist supply the Northern Ireland Department of Health, Social Care and Public Safety with a province-wide finance, procurement and logistics solution.

Advanced's eFinanicals software, which is used by more than 100 NHS organisations in England and the NSS in Scotland, will form the largest part of the deal.

The contract also encompasses Advanced's procurement, document management and business analytics software as well as logistics software from RedPrairie. The solution is part of a wider cost-saving scheme by Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland designed to save more than £8m per annum over 10 years.

Vin Murria (pictured), chief executive of Advanced, said: "This key contract win is a clear demonstration of our Group-wide capabilities to provide a range of interlocking services and products to enable our customers to materially improve their operational efficiencies and reduce costs."

For its fiscal year ending 28 February, Advanced saw revenue more than treble to £95.4m on the back of its acquisition of COA Solutions. Adjusted pre-tax profit hit £21m.

The AIM-listed firm also scooped a £4.3m, five-year contract with Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust in July 2011.
